Outage Description – 20/01/20 15:30pm AEST
Suspected unplanned network outage disruption with REDTRAIN Networks. Customers may experience intermittent service disruptions in the surrounding Pakenham and Warragul area. REDTRAIN Networks has been notified of the service difficulties and is currently investigating, no details of fault has been confirmed. Ascensa to advise once further details are provided, we apologies for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

REDTRAIN Networks advises that an unknown error has occurred with Telstra’s Network Termination Device (NTD) device responsible for backhaul services for Pakenham and Warragul. Currently no ETR – REDTRAIN Networks to provide further details when next update is issued by Telstra for affected services.

Carrier Update Advice – Telstra has confirmed that their MRV device located at REDTRAIN’s FTTH exchange is unreachable. A Telstra engineer is scheduled to be dispatched to perform a physical assessment of the affected device. REDTRAIN Networks advises that all services connecting to the South Eastern FTTH exchange in Pakemham will be impacted, this disruption extends to services connected to the Warragul FTTH edge exchange. Currently no ETR – REDTRAIN Networks to provide further details when next update is issued by Telstra of engineer site attendance.

Carrier Update Advice – REDTRAIN and Telstra field engineers have identified that there is no light signal between the REDTRAIN exchange and Telstra exchange. Telstra engineers have escalated the issue to Telstra’s transmission team to further investigate if there is a fibre breakage on the backhaul services. Currently no ETR – REDTRAIN Networks to provide further details as the fault elimination process progresses.

Carrier Update Advice – REDTRAIN advises that services to Pakenham and Warragul was restored at 19:05pm AEST. Ascensa is monitoring service restoration status of our customer to ensure there are no outstanding issues. A service restoration notice will be sent once all services are opertational. Please allow time for your Optical Network Unit (ONU) to register with the Optical Line Terminal (OLT), this can take anywhere up to 90 minutes.
